Food Allergen Cellular Test
Provided by Individual Wellbeing Diagnostic Laboratories
This test is a blood test that measures the release of chemical mediators from white blood cells once they have been stimulated and incubated with food allergens (217 different foods tested). Because it is a direct cellular assay, allergies can be detected that are caused by a number of different processes. These include not only specific IgE type reactions but also reactions involving other antibodies (IgG) and cytotoxic reactions which do not necessarily involve antibodies. This test is therefore an invaluable screening tool for the detection of a wide range of food sensitivities. The test involves having a blood sample taken at the laboratory. The test also provides details of cholesterol and blood glucose levels.
